How is Brother Rice in 2A? They won the regional and they don't get a multiplier?

This success factor just confuses things and encourages mediocrity from the non-boundaried schools.
I agree the success factor is silly that it's only for private schools creating a elite division. The state series with regional and sectional assignments are a hot mess every year. The 3 class system completely waters down the history of Illinois wrestling, call me old fashioned. Every ten years there are 140 more state champions and 1,120 more state placers when compared to the old 2 class system.

With Mt.C, CMC, PC, and St. Rita coming up. Do these schools go down to 2A?

Chicago (Kennedy) 1620

Crete (C.-Monee) 1635

Normal (Community West) 1641

Deerfield (H.S.) 1648

Same answer when you asked this question last year. No. After a quick look our sectional looks like we lost MT.C, MC, and Kennedy to 3A and gained BR, RB, & Richards from 3A.

So they don't make the 3 classes even? If 4 come up, don't 4 go down. The catholic schools are down in the list? Maybe there is another list????

MT.C and MAR. C and PC were already figured in as 3A per last years results. When the rumors started last year that ST.R and PC and MT.C were going to petition up you asked this same question about RB and the other two lowest 3A enrollment schools. When 2 of the 3 did actually petition up no one was dropped back in to 2A. I do agree that there is another list. That list contains primarily Catholic schools and changes from sport to sport. The IHSA likes to call this the "let's make sure as few of these teams as possible get to State list."

The Private schools won 3 out of the top 4 classes in football the last 2 years, in a sport more people have interest in - the comment above is unfounded, particularly when it mainly private school teams choosing to move up. In Lacrosse, if you win state your up, nobody complains.
