Ihsa updated classification

Looks like Mt Carmel and Marian Catholic are back in 3A and St Rita is down in 2A. Lincoln Way West is also moved to 3A with North closing. Aurora Christian is not classified yet but is starting a wrestling program next year, probably will be 1A. Our state series and class system needs a complete overhaul. Ihsa tried to fix something that wasn't broken when we moved to a three class system.

Not true. Montini will be 3a again according to the IHSA website.

I personally don't have an issue with 3 classes. Having the middle-sized schools with their own class has been good for some programs. Some of which simply did not compete in the old 2A. It's a little more equitable. Where they went to far was the success factor. The multiplier seemed to be working well enough. This success factor just confuses things and encourages mediocrity from the non-boundaried schools.

Grayslake North and Brother Rice went down, but why does Carmel of Mundelein which has a multiplier up to 2174.70 wrestle 2A??

Isn't there a rule where a non-boundary school can have their multiplier waived if they haven't won a regional in 'x' amount of years?
