Numbers down on track

IHSA needs to go back to 2 classes. Huge mistake!

I guess so. As of this writing (7:25 pm on Thursday) the Hinsdale Central Regional has nobody entered.

You should at least wait for everything to be entered before you start pontificating.

numbers are numbers, but you say we should go back to 2 weight classes.

lets talk logistics

how many teams would you put in 1 regional?

even when it was AA and A, you would have 9 to 10 teams in a regional, basically same as now, there were just more regionals and sectionals.

Listen there is a problem with participation, a 13 team frosh conference tournament had 82 kids in it, there is clearly an issue

I just dont see how going to 2 classes solves that for having fuller brackets at a regional....

I think the 3 classes are fine. You could have less regionals. Maybe go 2 per sectional.

Another idea would be to eliminate individual regional and replace with team dual regional. With the numbers the way they are, you could just have sectionals, then state.

440 teams wrestle. I would put 45% in 2A and 55% in 1A. All good private schools in 2A.

198 schools in 2A
242 schools in 1A

This balances the classes. Most of the talent is still up top.

8 sectionals for both classes, top 4 at each weigh go down state.

Each class places top 8 at the state tournament, and both classes are double elimination.

We have team score at the state meet like the NCAA nationals.

Because that's the sectional. The regional is at LT.

Just have a two day sectional and skip regionals.

The 2A/1A cutoff would be 1172

Wait we used to only have 2 classes?

of course I know that, my point was that going to 2 classes doesnt create full lineups all of a sudden
