There is still time for some kids to develop. Here is a quick list of finalists from last year who would not have been on my list after their sophomore years.

Guttridge
Abraham
Blah
Halvorsen
Boumans
Yohn
Benjamin
Fleck

As a fan of Illinois wrestling, I won't mind being wrong.

Only time will tell who is right and who is wrong or who is a little bit of both. This past 8th grade IKWF group had some real top end talent. Hard to predict what kind of depth it will turn out. One other point on the to be juniors. They are spread out between the 3 classes.
Based on last years weights from 152 up I would probably take a 2A or 1A guy at every weight.

My point about dissipating depth...

Don't look now but halfway through and Ohio Red up big against Minn Blue.

I beg to differ, I believe it looks like little depth because here in Illinois we are trained to look at 3A as the be all end all. In this particular grade class we have an exception to the rule and to truly judge that class correctly you must look at all 3 classes.

Great job coaches and wrestlers. So close to the double. It was a awesome experience and my son was honored to wear the junior Team Illinois gear. When you think of all the great wrestlers who represented Illinois, itís a wow moment my son doesnít comprehend yet. What a great state in wrestling

A 1st and 2nd is outstanding but leaves you wanting more.

Thank you Illinois wrestling for having us. Hopefully we can try it again next year. A special thanks to Coach Pearch for letting my son Brandon sleep on your couch a few nights and meet your family. And to teammates Abraham and Guttridge for being his roommates. He really had a great experience

Wrestle On

Team ILLINOIS
