Imagine the fact that #2 Minooka and #4 Providence have to drive ALL THE WAY DOWN to Pekin for one match that will end one of their seasons and watch Edwardsville and Rockton-Hononegah wrestle knowing that one of those teams will advance to state!!! How much does that suck?

Not really. It's unfortunate when you consider that out of all those top teams (Minooka, Providence, Lockport, Nequa Valley, Plainfield Central, and West Aurora) only one (between Minooka and Providence) makes it out of that Pakin sectional.

COULD... Sure they COULD seed it....

How about this... Keep team score at Sectionals and use it to "SEED" the Sectional Duals.

I always thought this would be the best way to do it in the old system when only one team got out and the best dual sometimes happened in the first round of sectionals making the 2nd match anti-climatic.

Now with so much riding on the line... would be nice for it to be seeded... or just revamped all together!

They should visit PIAA.org on a different way, possibly more fair way to set up the Team State bracket.

That's a really cool idea. It would be hard, though, because you could potentiall have seeded matchups that traveled VERY FAR to wrestle one another if sites were predetermined.

Very cool idea, though.

I still kinda wished they went back to the old system of the Regional 1 vs. Regional 2 teams dual it out to see who really is "Regional champion." If you're going to crown champion via dual meets, I think you should wrestle a dual meet to get into the tourney.

Just some thoughts.

Very cool, admin. It'd be great if you posted the dual so I could see it later. I won't be able to watch it live, you see. I'll be watching the OPRF Huskies live and in living color!

You mean like PROVIDENCE and MINOOKA who are located about 17 miles apart but have to travel 130 miles to PEKIN to wrestle each other in the most import dual of their season.

Outstanding! Good luck, that would be great to see. My contribution to the speculation on the top four teams would be Minooka, GN, Rockton Hono, and OPRF. I had the chance to watch the WA regional and was very impressed with Minooka. I am not a Minooka parent/fan, but they are peaking at the right time. Pretty solid top to bottom, very disciplined wrestlers. Coach Ruettiger has really established a solid program.
