Congrats Byron Sectional wrestlers

Special congratulations to Dustin Chapman (Le-Win, 126) for beating Patrick Crothers from Sandwich. Crothers was a state qualifier from the Plano Sectional...and Chapman didn't even make it out of regionals. Instances like these should make the IHSA wonder...

Are you seriously going to come on here and take away what Crothers did in the State Series and give an excuse for what Chapman didn't do? With your logic then Lena/Winslow shouldn't be in the finals against LeRoy because we all know Wilmington is better the team. We should definately give Wilmington at least the 3rd place trophy because they beat both Sandwich and Mercer County in duals earlier this year.
Dual meets are often dictated by momentum. Not to take anything away from Chapman, but on another day the outcome could be different.
Also by your logic no 4th place finisher should win state yet the 4th place finisher at your precious sectional at 113 won while your sectional champion didn't even place. As a matter of fact, he got beat by another 4th place finisher and that kid didn't place. Does the IHSA need to do something different so that the sectional champion places higher then the 4th palce finisher because he is obviously a better wrestler? No because on the day of the sectional he was better but not a week later. Today Champman was better than Crothers, that's it. Nothing more, nothing less. We know your sectional is tough and the toughest in the state. Let it go because the dynamics isn't going to change.

11 Champions from one sectional speaks for itself...

If you would have fought as hard at Sectionals as you do on this forum, you might have qualified for state yourself!

Easy boys. Brent is the only one who can bash others. Here comes the sob story about a 40 something picking on a lowly 18 yr old.

As I stated earlier, the Byron Sectional is the toughest in the state (at least for Class A). All I was saying was that Chapman was better than Crothers today. On a different day that may not be true just like Guiterrez was better the week of Sectionals but Baker was the better wrestler the week of State. Congrats to Lena/Winslow and nothing against them, but since I'm from the LeRoy area I will be rooting for them.

Ya'll can mock a ya want. Just be glad there is 2 or 3 teams year in and year out that can carry the torch for the rest of the state. Beyond them, there's not much depth. Truth is, if it were set up 1-32, at least 5 of the 8 quarter final teams would be from Byron year in and year out. If speaking the truth comes across as braggert, so be it. Truth hurts I guess. When one REGIONAL places 17 and one SECTIONAL places 11 and the other 2 SECTIONALS place 20, is it fair to the kids from that regional? Wont mention which regional or sectionals so as to not point fingers and hurt feelings.
