Mike Mena vs Josh Alber

Not to jump to any conclusions about Alber winning his fourth, but the debate is bound to come up.

Who would win in a match up of the two? They both competed at basically the same weights thru high school. Both starting at the lowest weight with Mena finishing at 125 and Alber at 132.

I watched Mena wrestle many matches, at least 30, over his four years, and always thought he was the best. After watching many of Albers matches the last couple of years I would now give the nod to Alber.

They both are good of the bottom, but rarely would spend anytime there, so I would call that even.

Mena was more explosive on his feet, but Albers defense, shown best, against Jimminez and Cortez makes him extremely tough to score on. Slight edge to Alber bases on his two overtime take-downs at the Dvorak.

Riding would be more of a clear choice for Alber. Seems he can get tilts at will.

I'll take Alber in the match, but close.

I would take Alber any day of the week. Mena was good, but we are seeing something special here with Alber. I can't wait to see what Assembly Hall does when/if he wins that 4th.

He is just a 1A kid after all......

Call me old school because he wrestled the same era as I did, but I like Mena here. Not by much but I think his aggresive nature get s the best of Alber.

This is tough. I watched them both wrestle in their high school days. They BOTH find/found a way to win every time (exception of that tie).

When they had ties, was there any o.t.? When did they do away with ties?

I have to agree...considering the wins that Josh has over both Jimmenez and Cortez...tough call but it's Alber.
