State Tournament Cross bracketing

Is anyone bothered with the fact that at the State Tournament the losing wrestler in the semi finals is not cross bracket like it is done in the NCAA wrestling Tournament? This gives the wrestler an easier path to place because he could face someone he had just beat earlier in the tournament before the 3rd place and 4th place match.

Once you make the semis you're guaranteed top 6

They cross in the quarter finals. They could wrestle the opponent they beat in round one in the semi final wrestle backs but if you only crossed in the semis A person who beat an opponent round 1 would have the chance to wrestle an opponent that he beat before the semi final wrestle backs where a place is guaranteed already.

16 man bracket at state means that quarter final losers are cross bracketed. NCAA is a 32 man bracket 2nd round losers and semi final losers are cross bracketed. To answer the questions is anybody bothered by this, the answer is no.

Thank you to all who replied to clarify something that really isn't relevant. Is anyone bothered by the fact that the original poster needs to do their homework about the NCAA tournament compared to our state tournament before posting something? Seriously. And why does it matter anyway? Everyone who wrestles in the state tournament needs to earn what they get.

Are you asking this across all classes to get something out of it? Did your kid lose in the championship bracket and then have to EARN something and didn't so now you can take to the message boards just to get some sympathy?? Life's simple: Be a man and earn yours like everyone else. No sympathy...no excuses.

lighten up a little

Hey there, unless you know Nicocross142 (which may be entirely possible) you are making a ton of assumptions. Maybe he/she just didn't realize all the things other posters pointed out in informational responses. Just because it is not relevant to you does not mean it isn't to someone else. Not everyone is an expert in all things.

In a world where you can be anything, be kind...

Asking questions and inquiring about things (anything) in turn makes you a very smart person.

Pump the breaks buddy, maybe take a page from this poster, I think he might be on to something.
