Oak Park will be in there soon. I'm surprised they weren't in there. As for individuals definitely not as many. Montini with only two. Danny Sheen Montini transfer is ranked #7 at 106 for Wyoming Seminary.

What ever happened to Providence, Glenbard North, and Sanburg? They have been down for almost a decade now..

Does every HS wrestler in IL want to Wrestle at either Montini or OPRF?!? or Does every wrestling PARENT in Chicago want to send their wrestling son there? Please, this recruiting is becoming ridiculous... (If it is recruiting)

Anyone have an Idea how we can get more TEAMS up to Montini's Speed?

As a guy with a kid who is still a very long way off from High School, the most attractive thing about Montini currently is kids competing on World Teams and getting looked at and attending places like Standford, Michigan, UNC, Princeton and the Armed Services...

Not even counting Wisconsin, Oklahoma, Purdue and Indiana where a few of their other kids have ended up.

Mt Carmel seems to be closing the gap a bit through their RWA pipeline. I think that's what your going to need to see for teams to close the gap. ELITE youth programs feeding pretty specific HS's. Something like SCN into Marmion or 1006 into who knows where they feed into.

IC could be interesting in the future. Not a whole lot of options if your kid doesn't want to red-shirt for a year or two in High School. I know they have a youth program that just kicked off last year, so it would be worth seeing how that develops.

You should note both of those schools are in Center of Chicagoland. That is a big factor, opens more possibilities. Sandburg not in with the other two, more recent heavy hitters. Lockport has taken some of the Sandburg normal flow. With all the camps, those dominant public schools will even out. The football issue will effect wrestling as well as far as recruiting.

What are the "Elite" Kids programs now? Martinez will always be there, but so many other programs have dismantled because of power and/or Pride of the Coaching Dads. IMO, a "Feeder program" has been dismantled in the Chicagoland area for a while now because of multiple reasons (its hard to have an ikwf program feed directly into a highschool)

As Far as On Your Toes goes.. Do you Really expect your son to wrestle internationally or get a Division 1 Scholarship? come on man, kids don't really NEED to go to college these days to make a good living... BUT if your kid is THAT good, Montini is probably your best bet for HS..

Just imagine if a Chicago program had a 1 million dollar wrestling room like Edwardsville has.. IMO, we need 4-5 of those rooms in the Chi. Where ya at Investors?!?

I personally don't expect my son to wrestle internationally. He's 9. I'd be super pumped if he didn't get upset whenever he was losing in a match.

Original poster asked how do other schools catch up....that just seems to be something unique to Montini, along with the caliber of education these kids are getting in large part due to wrestling after Montini.

Elite kids programs....
Izzy, Harvey Twisters, 1006, Force, Storm, SCN, Arlington, Wrestle Factory/Poeta...sure there's others, but those stick out.
