Just to be clear, as political lines have been drawn, there is some myths that people who are a Democrat are in favor of socialism. I love capitalism! In the USA we currently have a mixed economy. If it was pure Capitalism there would be no restrictions at all. We would still be put in regular gasoline in our cars. Heating our homes with Coal. There would be no regulations and food quality, we would live in a buyer beware society. We would all be going to the same gas station called standard oil. I am not sure if you guys are into fishing but I sure am. Actually love game wardens and get along with them just fine. My boat is always 100% legal. They change the regulations about sizes and quantity of fish aloud every year and I followhim to a T. They have these regulations to promote fishing for ourselves and our posterity. I have had guys on the boat beg me to keep the fish even after I measure it and it is either under or over a limit. They say that is my fish I caught it and I threw it back in the water and say it was your fish! My example about the college scandal is not really an example but more of an analogy.

I teach students whose parents to not even take them the registration over the summer. How are they supposed to navigate school choice? Even in wrestling, which this is a wrestling website. I have coach kids who have never met their parents. I wish I had a nickel for every Signature I forged to get a kid into a tournament or to go downstate. What happened was I read a book in college called Savage Inequalities . If this was a wrestling match, I take down. And try to get these kids the hell up and out! Old Pioneer

Dems are in love with socialistic ideas no matter what they say about capitalism -- that's been my experience.

Here's an idea: I know a guy who can work something out with the game warden for ya... it'll cost ya though. But whose more important than you?

Good thing for you that you clarified that...I was going to challenge you find one conservative involved in that scandal. That scandal is corruption, corruption is bi-partisan.

It usually goes unsaid that we need a proper balance of capitalism and socialism. If we agree on that then the debate is on where the tipping point should be. The simplest measure of socialism is taxation, because every penny spent by the government is socialist spending. I believe 60 to 70% taxation is way too much socialism. I have always advocated that 10% is more than enough, but maybe I am a little low...we definitely need some serious cuts.

Kids who have no parental guidance would be on the same rising tide as the rest of the students if the entire system is on the rise. I think the obstacle to open enrollment is that it complicates union contracts if funding is shifted to better schools.

I do enjoy waking up and reading the comments chance! It is just that when I think of liberal and conservative or capitalism and socialism I think of it as more of a continuum Or a spectrum if you will. But it seems that these days it is like Crips and bloods! And they are blue and red! LOL I mean even the title of this thread is basically who side are you on? What the hell happened?

To me being liberal means flexible and for change. But now it means I love communism and don’t love my country. What is ironic is that our president has really been chummy with the leaders of North Korea and Russia two of the staunchest communist nations on the planet. Kind of like during the civil rights movement people were called communist.https://youtu.be/a2XTXHKcUPY

So now diplomacy is bad?

Was it bad when Hillary was offering Putan a reset button after he invaded one of his neighboring countries.

Was it bad when Hillary was selling them 20% of our uranium in exchange for donations to the Clinton Foundation and a $500,000 speech by Bill in Moscow...Bill actually met with Putan on that trip.

Hillary colluded with Russia to create the fake dossier about Trump.

...and I think it was Bill Clinton that paid North Korea to stop building nukes...how did that work out?

Here is a list of Trumps activities with Russia...and then you tel me which one was chummy with Russia.

The Trump Administration has implemented a wide array of sanctions and other punitive actions against Russia for their destabilizing actions and provocations against the U.S. and its allies.

In response to Russian interference in the 2016 election and other malfeasance, the Trump Administration has sanctioned Russian oligarchs and intelligence entities.

Throughout 2017 and 2018, the U.S. sanctioned numerous Russian actors for violating non-proliferation laws by supporting weapons programs in Iran and Syria, and supporting North Korea's development of weapons of mass destruction.

The Trump Administration has issued sanctions against more than one hundred Russian actors and firms for Russia's destabilizing actions in Ukraine and its ongoing occupation of Crimea.

In March 2017, in response to Russia's use of a military-grade chemical weapon in the United Kingdom, the Trump Administration ordered multiple Russian consulates in the United States closed and expelled 60 Russian intelligence officers.

Due to sanctions imposed by the Trump Administration, the Russian economy and Russian geo-economic projects have been severely constrained.

In 2018, as Russian investors reacted to new sanctions, the Russian Ruble made its biggest fall in over three years, and, as of July 2018, is down nearly nine percent against the dollar.

As a part of its sanctions against Russia, the United States has prevented numerous companies from partnering with Russian offshore oil projects, denying these projects access to capital and key resources.

The Trump Administration has also opposed Russian President Vladimir Putin's largest geo-economic project, the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, which could generate hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue for Russia.
In the wake of Russian provocations, President Trump has exercised U.S. military power and worked to bolster U.S. allies in Europe.

In 2017, President Trump approved the sale of lethal weapons to Ukraine addressing the country's vulnerability to Russian-backed separatists in its eastern provinces.

Under the Trump Administration, Russian mercenaries and other pro-Syrian regime forces attacking U.S. troops in Syria were killed.

The U.S. has increased troops and its military capability in Eastern Europe and dramatically increased training and drills with its NATO partners.
In 2018, the U.S. Department of Defense increased its spending as part of the European Deterrence Initiative by $1.4 billion dollars.

Due to pressure from President Trump, U.S.' NATO allies have increased defense expenditures by five percent.

Diplomacy is great, *** smooching is not. My buddy rich is a union electrician, on long rides he says he debates with Trumpsters about everything including the investigation. He says, a Trumpster cannot argue against the investigation without bringing up Clinton and Obama. See if you can try.
