I thought Huntley was a solid #4 behind Montini, Mt Carmel and DeKalb.

Really? I saw a lot of sticks left out there. IDK. I know it's not IHSA rule but is it now customary that win lose your wrestler doesn't shake hands with the opposing coach?
I guess that's the new definition of sportsmanship. I'm fine with that. Just wondering if that should be the new norm?

Right, as a coach I know what to expect vs. GBN (handshakes, style, etc.), but I still find myself giving air fist bumps after each bout. Some of our guys wrestled well, but they got us, we will see them again in tourneys and must improve. Good Luck to the Gold Dot and GO HUNTLEY!

Huntley will be fine. Has been up and coming program for several years now.

Never really quite understood why GBN wrestlers don't shake hands with the opposing teams coaches.
I know they're not the only ones who don't.
High school or college.
But it kinda goes against the whole persona they project with the cowboy boots their coaches (all) wear.

Most people I have encountered in my life who are the type who wear cowboy boots, that aren't either in costume or being a poseur, are the shake your hand and look you in the eye types.

I have no personal issue with GBN or their coaches, they are a great team, with great coaches who have a great tradition, it has just made me wonder throughout the years and since the subject came up, I decided to add my two cents.

Why shake hands after the match? You shake your opponents hand before and after the match. Then his hand again and all of his teammates and coaches after the dual. Definitely not necessary after every match.

Sportsmanship. Courtesy. Respect. Decency......

I'm not saying that GBN is lacking in those traits, but you asked why....

I Think shaking hands before & after the match and the whole teams hand after the dual shows sportsmanship, courtesy, respect and decency. Donít see anything wrong not shaking the coaches hand after the match. Most of the coaches are just gonna lie to kid after he just got his *** handed to him and say good match. Whats the point of that? After a loss I donít blame a kid not wanting to walk over there and have the coach straight lie to his disappointed face .
