U of I lineup next year?

Any ideas on U of Illinois line-up next year? College board is dead so I'll throw it out here.

125-Flores
133-Gomez/Klinger (Kennedy red-shirt)
141-Pero (Reynolds red-shirt)
149-T. Tirapelle
157-Poeta
165-Bergsrund/Reynolds (This will be Donny's spot if he is healthy)
174-Brownson/Guida/ (Dergo red-shirt)
184-Brownson/Guida
197-Bond
HWT-Wise

Just my guess.

Barr,
I think that you are really close. I'm hearing that Lil Reynolds is the real deal and that he just might be starting next year.
respectfully,
Lauden

There is no doubt that Sean Reynolds is the real deal and I personally think he would beat out Pero, but Pero is an AA with 1 year left. So they might red-shirt Sean and save him to come in with Kennedy, Dergo and company. Not only that but Sean has had a couple of injuries that have kept him out of competition and the last injury was pretty serious. Coach Johnson might not have a choice but to red-shirt him. We will just have to wait and see if he is healthy when it is time to go.

I will say that Illinois' line-up looks pretty good for the next few years with the young guys they have. Bond, Dergo, Reynolds, Kennedy, Tirapelle, etc.

Reynolds'

I heard both Reynolds' were going to have major knee surgeries (torn ACL). If true, that is a shame. I know the older one has had many knee problems or I think he would have been an AA. I hope both are alright, because when healthy they are both top level national wrestlers and have beaten many top ranked guys. Also, how is Dergo's knee? Good Luck and stay healthy.

Well it looks like next year will be a down year for Uof I. Poeta and Tirapelle will most likely AA, and Flores and big Reynolds will be very competitive if not AA, but rest of the line up looks like it will struggle. However the following years look to be good.

Yes both of the Reynolds brothers tore their ACL and had surgery. They both had their surgeries with-in the last 2 weeks.

I don't know if next year will be a down year for Illinois. First of all they didn't exactly light the world on fire this past season. Second of all they have a few guys that could make AA next year. I think Flores at 125 has a good shot of AA, Pero at 141 has a shot at AA (he did it 2 years ago and a lot of the studs from that weight have graduated), Tirapelle has a shot at AA (if he can become more consistant), Poeta has a shot at the NCAA title at 157, Bergsrund at 165, if Reynolds can't get back, will be a very good wrestler and win a couple of matches at the NCAA, 174 Guida is very good (he went like 24-4 as a RS), Bond at 197 was a blue chipper coming out of highschool and I think he will win a couple of matches at the NCAA.

I think 133 is their weakest weight class right now. I don't know much about Brownson at 184. Wise at HWT was a 2x state champ, but he will have to get back up to speed after taking a year or two off to play football.

I don't think they will qualify 10 for the NCAA tourney like they did this past season, but I think they will have a better team finish with a few more AA.

I talked to Mr Reynolds the other day. Hewas a little down but what can you do. good luck to both Sean and Donnie. I feel they will both be back but it is a 6 month recovery from ACL surgery.

Thumbs up New to the U of I lineup

For sure the Illinois' line-up looks pretty good for the next few years with the young guys they have. Bond, Dergo, Reynolds, Kennedy, Tirapelle, and I even heard Kotowski is going there too.
