IHSA Sectional Weather Changes

Below you will find reported changes to sectional tournaments due to the weather. This page will be updated as new information comes into Illinois Matmen so be sure to check back often.

Click here to review the official IHSA criteria for determining 3rd and 4th place if both athletes have already wrestled 5 times before the 3rd place match. This applies to one day sectional tournaments.

Class 1A Sectionals

Chicago (C. Hope Academy) – Chicago Hope 1A Sectional is a go as scheduled. Due to school closings, mats will be available beginning at 1 pm. Friday weigh-ins at 3:30 pm. Wrestle at 5:30 pm.

Oregon – Oregon is ON for Friday.

Stanford (Olympia) – No reported changes

Vandalia – No reported changes

Class 2A Sectionals

Darien (Hinsdale South) – Hinsdale South has canceled Friday wrestling. Tentative Hinsdale South schedule for Saturday as follows:

7:30am – Weigh-in (Official)
8:15am – Coaches meeting
Session 1
9:00am – Championship Prelims (Official)
10:30am – Championship Quarterfinals
12pm – Consolation 1st Round
1:30pm – Championship Semifinals / Consolation 2nd Round
3:00pm – Break
Session 2
4:00pm – Consolation Semifinals (2 mats)
5:30pm – 1st and 3rd Place Matches

Grayslake (Central) – Grayslake Central 2A sectional is on as scheduled. Weight checks 2:30pm. Weigh in 3pm. Wrestling to start at 4:30pm.

Lincoln – All is a go in Lincoln. Scheduled as planned.

Sycamore (H.S.) – Updated Sycamore schedule as follows:

Friday
Weigh-in 4:30 pm
Wrestling at 6:00 pm

Saturday
Weigh-in at 8:30 am
Wrestling at 10:00 am
2nd Session at 3:00 pm

Class 3A Sectionals

Alton (Sr.) – Alton is on as scheduled. Not expecting severe weather until Saturday night.

Barrington – The Barrington sectional is on for Friday night. Wrestling begins at 6 pm.

Elgin (Larkin) – Due to the weather, Larkin has moved to a 1-day, 2-session tournament on Saturday. Click here for the updated schedule.

Hinsdale (Central) – No Friday wrestling. 7:30am weigh-ins on Saturday. 9am Wrestling on Saturday. Updated Hinsdale Central schedule as follows:
