I love Illinois Matmen, as I am sure you all do too. Before, I would love coming online to IM.com, and enjoy chatting on the best wrestling website on the internet, we all had our lighthearted laughs and good natured ribbing, but IM.com recently has been a fiesta of name-calling, insults, belittling, and other bullcrap like that. I have been a member of many other large forums, and the crap that's getting pulled here never, ever, in a million years would have been allowed at those forums. Yes, I do understand that IM.com is a (relatively) small forum, so some sort of leniency is to be expected; but lately, it has been too lenient and laidback.
How to remedy this? Rules. I have noticed that IM.com does have any rules, nor does the staff consistently enforce any rules. I propose a set of rules to be drafted , and enforced by the staff of IM.com. If a set of clear, defined rules were to be put into place, IM.com would be a much cleaner, and certainly much more respected place. If people break those rules? Have a clear set of consequences.
For example…
1st offense: Warning.
2nd offense: Moderator preview (I am not sure if VBulletin supports this feature or not)
3rd offense: Restrict posting privileges for certain amount of days, depending on the offense.
4th offense: Ban from the site.
If IM.com were to do this, I am sure the environment would be greatly improved, and the people of IM.com would greatly enjoy the improved posting environment of Illinois Matmen.
If IM.com were not to do this, I am sure you will most likely see a decline of (positive) activity on Illinois Matmen.
Thanks for reading,
