Press Release:
Wrestling Club at UWM Hosts 2nd Annual King of the Beach Tournament
Milwaukee, WI, July 16, 2008 – The Wrestling Club at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee will be holding its 2nd Annual King of the Beach Wrestling Championships at the Bradford Beach Jam on Lincoln Memorial Drive Saturday, July 26th starting at 11:30 A.M.
A one-of-a-kind tournament in Wisconsin, the Wrestling Club expects the tournament to grow by leaps and bounds from last year. Board president Gabe Wahhab says that while last summer was no flop, there is always room for improvement.
“Last summer we held the first ever beach tournament in Wisconsin, and we were very proud of it,” says Wahhab. “Since then we have raised the bar in every department, the key one being participation.”
With 5,000 spectators present at the Bradford Beach Jam to watch freestyle BMX, wind surfing and beach volleyball, and over 50,000 cars passing along Lincoln Memorial, the word has spread quickly about the unique tournament.
“Interest has definitely been higher this year,” Wahhab says.
