But I wouldn't say that they looked that impressive. Lots of holes in the middle of the line-up

East looked pretty decent through the middle of their lineup- Logsdon looked especially good. Hononegah was missing several starters for that match and had some guys wrestling up a weight class. The score could easily have been 52-16, but at 103 Rader was up 12-0 and going for a tech fall when he got caught in a headlock and pinned. It will be interesting to see the lineups take shape over the next couple weeks.

What other starters were they missing other than 140 & 215? I thought Westrom wrestled Logsdon pretty well.

A bit o/t, but...how do you pronounce 'hononegah"???

Is it "ho-NON-eh-gah"? I've always wondered about this.

hahn - ah- nee- gah

Wouldn't have guessed THAT pronunciation! Sounds like an American Native Indian name. Or French or sumthin

hahn' - ah- nee' - gah

Just added the accents on the first and third syllables. This is a native american name - named for an indian lady who was married to the founder of Rockton.

I guess "several" was the wrong word. Those were the two missing starters. Wolfgram and Dwyer were wrestling up a weight, so there were 4 spots that will likely change in the future.

I agree that Westrom wrestled Logsdon pretty well. That's why I was impressed with Logsdon's 12-4 major decision against a good wrestler.

You mentioned Dwyer wrestled up. Isn't he wrestling 189 this year?

I'm just guessing, he looked to me like he could make it.

As far as I'm concern, Hononegah has a lot to improve on and East was impressive with an experience coaching staff (state qualifiers from East 6-7 years ago and a Harlem 2nd place winner)! I think that it is going to be a bloody area during regionals (135-160). This could be a change in the "Crown" if Hononegah doesn't improve (points being taken away, balance brackets)! But if I know Coach Kaiser and the staff they will improve. Should be a blast at the Conference and Regionals!

Who's the second placer from Harlem? I haven't seen East since last year, but I believed they had Dalton Bullard. He was a multiple runner-up from Belvidere also.

The individuals that I was talking about that are helping East are

Brandon Lozdoski 152, 2003-04 2nd place at State
Jordan Kolinski, Rockford (East) 112, 2002-03 3rd place at State

Brandon I think wrestled a little at The University of Illinois and Jordan wrestled for University of Wisconsin - LaCrosse.

If they stay on and help this could help them compete in the NIC10 and Regionals.

But I still think that Coach Kaiser will have Hononegah ready by the end of the year. It's going to be a growing next couple of years for the Indians with the loss of what use to be called "The Fab Five" (5 starting freshman to the 4th place team in 05&07). They'll be ready. But keep looking over your shoulder though!
