Hi Everyone,
This is James Oliva and I'm here to announce that we've finally updated our website over at http://www.7minutes-movie.com (http://www.7minutes-movie.com/). Check the UPDATES section and learn more about our auditions April 9th in downtown Chicago. Anyone who has ever taken in the slightest interest in acting is invited to attend. We're looking for wrestlers of all shapes and sizes. Both SAG and non-union actors are invited. Here's a copy of our press release.
"Infinite Entertainment will hold an open audition for its film “7 Minutes,” Saturday, April 9, at 10 a.m. in the Congressional Room of the Congress Plaza Hotel in downtown Chicago. Amateur wrestling experience is preferred but not required. All actors are invited to attend to audition for non-wrestling roles.
The film, based on a script by James Oliva and Joseph Ziegler, seeks to portray the sport of amateur wrestling differently than any previous films –realistically, and in the context of collegiate competition. Oliva, the film’s director and co-producer, is a former Division I wrestler for Northern Illinois University and current assistant coach at Streamwood (Ill.) High school. Former Illinois state champion Matt Kucala, another of the film's producers, is set to play one of the main characters.
The production crew began principal photography Feb. 26 at the Liberty Nationals wrestling tournament in Kansas City, and will pick up again in late June, with a debut planned for next winter’s film festival circuit. The film has already drawn quite a bit of attention on the Internet, thanks largely to its website: http://www.7minutes-movie.com. (http://sitemail.ryanoweb.com/sitemail4/parse.pl?redirect=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.7minutes-movie.com.) The website has already had over 20,000 hits since launching in January. ASICS shoes, has agreed to supply the film's athletic apparel, and Wisconsin based Wrestlingwear.com, is customizing the uniforms for the film’s fictional university team.
“7 Minutes” follows the journey of a Division I wrestling program through a season in which it has to deal with not only the sacrifice it takes to excel in the world’s toughest sport, but personality conflicts, and the university’s desire to cut the program due to the controversial requirements and interpretations of Title IX. The story focuses on the team’s best wrestler as he tries to claim an NCAA title against a rival while trying to conqueror the mental demons that hold him back.
Interested actors should send headshots, resume, and demo reel to
