Sorry, I meant 130 and 138 Sr. Elite. 138 had 3 state champs!!! Reveles, Miller, and Dwyer. I would say that had to be one of the toughest weights.

That 70lb. bracket is stacked this year....a ton of good kids.....i've seen kids get knocked out by 1 or two points between the kids open and the Midwest Classic and i've seen a ton of kids place by just one or two points!! Anything can happen in this bracket....

Actually Gonzales took 1st and Foreman took 5th. Is there any information on the other brackets?

138 # was split into 2 brackets. I know Gonzales took 2nd in the B bracket, not 1st. Bad seeding left Foreman wrestling to take 5th. Looking foward to full results being posted. 138 # this year is definatly the toughest weight class.

How do you figure it was bad seeding? You have to win to make it to the championship.

Foreman wrestled gonzalas 1st round, into a kid from Orland who got a first round bye, then lost his next 2 matches and did not place. The best the loser in the fist round can do is 5th. All I'm saying is no way foreman and gonzaez should have wrestled 1st round when there were 1st round bye's top and bottom of the bracket

To follow up your comments....is there another way to run an 8 man bracket than the typical scenario where if you lose your first match....the best you can hope for is 5th?

I am new to the sport, and bracketing and seeding in general, and this part of it seems to be a weakness in the tournaments. One should obviously give it there all to win the first bout!

Absolutely, you should do everything you can to win your fist, and every match.the whole point of seeding is to get the best wrestlers to the place matches. On a weekly basis seeding is less important, but in elite tournaments, like the kids open elite or midwest classic for instance, seeding could mean the difference of second place, or fifth place for the second best wrestler in the bracket, depending on where he is seeded.

The placers from Tulsa are listed at worldofwrestling-roller.com. I know Ward, Cavallaris, and Peich were in the 70lb. 12-U bracket. None of them placed.
