Over half of the ones who started - 29 of 56 - go to the second day, and 47 of the 56 won at least one match.

Here's who's left:

98 - Matt Sommers, 2-1
105 - Jake Bellis, 3-0; Antonio Taylor, 3-1
119 - Nick Harrison, 3-1; Prentice Thomas, 4-0
125 - Nicholas Drendel, 2-1; A.J. Juarez, 3-1; Derek McIntosh, 2-1; Jimmy Nehls, 3-1
130 - Conor Infelise, 3-1; Kory Jauch, 3-1; Sean Raddatz, 2-1
135 - Thomas Gantt, 2-1; Brandon Rice, 3-1
140 - Dillon Cowan, 4-0; Luke Smith, 3-1
145 - Jake Gregerson, 4-0
152 - Rick Goerke, 3-1; Joey Moorhouse, 4-0
160 - Dylan Reel, 4-0
171 - Jahwon Akui, 4-0; Jeremy Fahler, 3-1; Angelo Rivera, 3-1
189 - Luke Miller, 3-0; Khari Washington, 4-0
215 - Josh Marchok, 4-0; Michael Sojka, 4-0 (Trevor Rupp, Idaho, got taken right down to the wire by Nick Gwiazdowski, New York, in one of the last matches of the night; anything can happen)
285 - West Cathcart, 4-0; Casey Gushleff, 3-1

So a lot of pretty good guys are sitting out there with a loss. They'll have to suck it up tomorrow.

I surprised to see West Cathcart at hwt. And kicking butt. He's a stud at any weight, I guess!!!

I haven't seen one of his matches yet, but I'm guessing he's probably quicker than these heavyweights. And you know how Greco is - hang around for 90 seconds, and then anything can happen. He has another unbeaten kid this round - Taylor Henry from Wisconsin, who was their Division 2 state champion this year. I'll take a look at it.

He fell behind 2-0 in the first period - tried to high-leg over on a whizzer - but after that it was all Cathcart. It was 2-2, he defended, they were brought up, and he got a takedown on an arm-spin right at the buzzer to win the period 3-2. In the second period he was ahead 3-0 and when Henry tried a desperation throw at the end, West pinned him. He can't be more than 220 and Henry probably cuts to make the weight.
