Brad was a state qualifier as a sophmore. Im not sure what he did last year though. You would think we would be good wrestling with bybee everyday

I know just because he wrestles bybee everyday doesnt make him good. what im saying is that he should be good being able to wrestle bybee every single day. Basically he should be doing alot better than what he is

Actually his record for the last two years is 56-9 last year he was MI champ and second at PIT. At sectionals last year he had 9 stitches in the end of his fingers and some badly brused ribs, I told him to quit being a girl and keep wrestling but he didn't. He's also the team leader on IVC's 5-0 football team. What did you do last year or the year before.

Ernst at 125/130 and Shallenberger at 130/135 should make pretty good noise this season. Look for both of them to be there come state time!

i also was a MI champ big deal. i lost by 1 at sectionals to go for 3rd in AA and the year b4 i blew my knee out. and the only reason the football team is 5-0 is because they dropped out of the MI cause it was too hard for them

If you keep your negative opinions to yourself and talk positive about the wrestlers in central Illinois, people might respect you and want to converse with you son.

With galesburg being in the peoria regional zone according to the AA board do you thing they will shake up any brackets? Conan carroll had a pretty good season. DO you think he have more success this year? Will donny cotton win state???

yea i think donny will win state. he showed his ability last year and i think he will do the same this year. the only problem i see him having is being able to change coaches again because EP has another new head coach

i would like to say im sorry for the past comments about brad stenzel. a couple of my friends have my password and posted on here. i believe that brad stenzel is a good wrestler and will have success this season. i hate to hear that he could not compete in sectionals last year because i think he could have placed last year at state. once again i apologize for my friends comments.

Lets here about some smaller weight classes. Andrew zobac should suprise and possibly go to state and place. Who else at these lower weights have a shot at making it ot state

i think zobac should do good this year at 119 and i think gapinski from LP should do pretty good as well. of course winland should do good. other then those 3 i dont see many lower weight kids from our area doing well downstate.

I can't remember but I think Zobac weighed like 140 at the Midwest Nationals over the summer.

I highly doubt Zobac will be able to place at state. Andrew's a good wrestler but not enough to place.
What's he weighing or wrestling? I think they also have a new coach or assistant, I thought Pallante looked like a beast over the Spring when I saw him wrestle Zobac. He's a fighter for sure.

Cotton will definately place this year. I wouldn't hand him the first place medal yet though there are allot of tough kids at state and he's going through a coaching change. Not to mention 130 wasn't very strong at the state level last year. Precin who dominated all of 130 was beat by Kennedy in team state and Kennedy and multiple close matches at 125. In my opinion Cotton will probably place but let's not set ourselves up for disappointment.

Thirty last year was loaded in my opinion Precin 2 time state champ, Bullard four time placer, mike ryan 2 time class a state champ who placed sixth and got tech falled for fith by Cartice lloyd, also adam canty is tough don't know how many times he placed id he did

I agree. plus his side of the bracket was loaded. Add Wade Lowe and Mark Schultz. I hadn't seen Cotten until downstate and he was tremendously impressive. Especially his pin of Lloyd in the semis.

These people were good at 130 but if they wouldn've went 125 or 135 they wouldn't have done as well because 130 was weak. Dalton Bullard and Brandon Precin were the two biggest names and they both wouldn't have made it to the finals at the surrounding weights.

Warrior do you know anything about wrestling or what you are even talking about. Precin and bullard were both good enough to when state at either 125 or 135. Precin only lost to kennedy by a point or two. Kennedy won state at 125. SO dont sit here and run your mouth about precin and bullard not being good enough. 130 was a stacked weight class. I think 130 was even more stacked than 125. Bullard could have drop to 125 but he chose to take on his rival precin. Warrior you dont have a clue to what your talking about.

Sparky do you know anything about the English language...wrestlers WIN the state tournamnet not WHEN it. Just kidding... I agree with you that 130 was more stacked than 125, and every time I watch the Bullard Cotton Match, I am convinced there was a bad call early in the match that could have made it 4-4 at the end of regulation..who knows what might have happened from there!!!

Well it's pretty much agreed on across these boards that 125 was the toughest so you must have either wrestled in 130 or know some from 130. But have it your way Cotton is going to walk through state this year and Precin and Bullard are both better than any of the 25 pounders despite the fact that Precin dominated Bullard and got handled pretty easily by Kennedy(yes I saw it and Kennedy was in control the whole time) and Kennedy had multiple close matches not to mention the fact that Illinois had 3 national placers and 1 person who was 1 match away from placing from 25 and Jimmy Kennedy didn't even wrestle at nationals. But yeah, you're right. My point is made and I'm done with this topic.

You got the weights wrong on Winland and Kull. Check out the results at Conant. Winland is wrestling 112. As far as Kull goes, he will be at 189. Look for Quen VanDermay-Kirkham at 171.

Cotton may not walk through state but he is very tough and I would say deserves strong consideration for a state championship. He was not just beating state quality compitition last year at state he was pinning them.

I think Donny should go 130. He would be very big and I would like to see him challenge Starzyk... if he does not go down to 125. He for sure would be a finalist favorite. I think at 135, he will have trouble with Prater, Zimmerman and a few others. 130 overall is a much easier trail to finish high. It would be cool for him (and I think he could) to beat a 2x Champ.
