Was in on a single on Young (up 3-0), Young beat the shoulder around the corner and Lowe kept the single with 2 hands. Got bonked on his head. Was still loopy after inj. time. Was better after the dual.

Its not that the Minooka boys "didn't show up". They declined the invitations. They had their "Senior Banquet" on Sunday and had already paid for their tickets.
The organizer of the event new well ahead of time that they would not be there.

They didn't seem to 'show up' for team state either.

That just ain't necessary. Those boys always wrestle with alot a heart but you just can't win them all. That's why we wrestle.

While it was not one of thier best days, those seniors accomplished alot in thier 4 years -- 4 regional titles, 3 elite eight appearances, 12 individual state qualifying appearances, & 3 state medals. Not bad for a group of kids that started wrestling in 6th grade.
Yes it did not end the way anyone in the Minooka camp wanted to see, but these seniors should be proud of what they did accomplish and the BAR they have set for future minooka wrestlers to strive for.

Looking at the lineups, the central team was probably better without the Minooka boys. They are tough hard nosed kids, but looking at it weight-by-weight, the kids that wrestled seemed to wrestle with more fire and enthusiams than the Minooka kids at the end of the year.
125 Tyler Helfers is probably a step up from Bodemuller. +1
130 Young is a step below Bokoski even
140 Noland is a step up from O'Brien +1
145 Childers is probably even with Zabel. +1
( I know Zabel placed at state, but he is wrestling poorly as of late), he lost to Crawford (a non-qualifier) in team sectionals, and lost to Rockton in the team dual. Childers beat Robberstad from Mahomet in the team dual and Zabel beat Robberstad 1-0 at sectionals.
152 Downey and Olin are a wash. Downey controlled Olin 5-1 in the sectional finals and Olin won at Regionals. +1
171 Nakashima is a small step up from Loomis. Beat a quality kid in Grant (Bethalto) +2
275 Nasti is a step up from McCarthy +3
Overall the central squad was probably better off with the kids they had. The Minooka kids looked worn out at the end of a long year. Just my opinion.

Bokoski beat young 7-6 when he was hurt and sick. Lowe probably would have dominated Bokoski.

He may have dominated him, but I can't see more than a regular decision.

After getting pinned by Lowe, Barnhisel beat Bokowski 6-2. Doesn't necessarily mean Lowe pins Bokowski, but I can definitely see it happening.

Lowe teched Bokowski (6-0/6-0) at Freestyle State last year. I don't know how that would translate into folkstyle but it does give some indication. Both are very good wrestler and who knows how it would have played out this year.

Does Lowe pin a lot? I know he had a few at state, but that could have been kids desperate going for a win.

He didn't get tested too often during the regular season due strength of schedule. He did pin a lot, but I have seen him run up the score to a tech in many matches. He was up 13-0 on Kyle Williams in the third place match at state, and looking to tech. Williams threw him to his back near the end of the match to make the score closer.

Not really, he's a a total technician, him and his father are absolute students of the game.

He was up 3-0 on Young, middle of the second period. I don't think he would have majored him but, who knows.
