Classification Cut Offs

Does anyone know what the enrollment cut off will be for the 2 classes in IESA Wrestling?

I ran some numbers off of what the IESA was reporting as far as 7&8 grade enrollments and co-op's.

What i seen was a total of 193 schools, I know it is listed as 227 total schools but when co-op's are factored in the number is reduced to 193, so half is 96.5.

The 96th enrolled school is MT. Zion at 373
The 97th enrolled is Gurnee Viking at 367
The 98th is Rock Fall which co-ops with East Coloma and Motmorency at 355.

So if I did this right, I don't know where the line will be drawn at.

Hope this helps.

Yes, but enrollments change year by year. I have no idea how this is actually suppose to work, but it seems to be that this be a year by year evaluation of enrollment to dictate whom is A or AA.

Ryno, isn’t that how it works for all sports at all levels when there are classes, or am I just confused? I assumed sports with classes always had the cutoff determined each year based on that year’s enrollments, but maybe this isn’t the case....

I believe you are right. All I did was add all enrollments with co-op's and put the line at half. So unless I read the determining a class split wrong, this would be it. I have all the wrestling schools in an excel spreadsheet if anyone wants to see it.
