I do know that even if people make subtle threats against elected officials online or on the phone they are usually in some big trouble. But then again, really, gallows are only a few pieces of wood right? Rope have many other uses. And maybe when they were saying hang Mike Pence they meant hang up his clothes. It’s a good thing they didn’t do that to a target store, that would have been just appalling.....And as far as them using the American flag as a weapon, at least they didn’t take a knee. That would’ve been so disrespectful to the armed services. I do believe the Capitol police at some point gave up. They were definitely outnumbered. I’m just thankful for that one officer that led them on a detour. But I remember you said you didn’t know anything about him because he was on the fake news.
You said you were going to post a video of the cop walking backwards...you never did.

It was the first one that came up on YouTube. It has the initials WP which I assume is Washington post I’m at lunch and don’t have sound. I know that publication would be considered fake news perhaps this video was doctored and it’s actually a field trip and he is giving a tour. https://youtu.be/QyWuw205um0Always support your local wrestling tournament concession stands!!!

Conversely, if Trump feels that everything that the media is saying about him is untrue he should file suit against those publications. Even before he was president his name was probably on more civil court documents than a lot of people. It’s not like he doesn’t understand the system or has the resources. Know if the newspapers are simply critical of him he probably chose the wrong profession. I remember when SNL started Doing skits about him...He was talking about getting them off the air.

Republicans are perhaps the superior party on free speech...just as long as that speech/opinion is not critical of Donald Trump or an impediment to his political ambitions.
North Carolina Senator Richard Burr = Censured
Louisiana Senator Bill Cassidy = Censured
Wyoming Rep. Liz Cheney = Censured
Fox News Political Editor Chris Stirewalt = Fired weeks after calling Arizona in favor of Joe Biden
South Caroline Rep. Tom Rice = Censured
Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger = Death threats
Nebraska Sen. Ben Sasse = Rebuked by party
Illinois Rep. Adam Kinzinger = Censured, rejected by family for joining the Devil’s Army.
Former Vice President Mike Pence = Called a traitor, threatened with hanging
Michigan Rep. Peter Meijer = Censured
Michigan Rep. Fred Upton = Censured
Washington Rep. Jaime Herrea Beutler = Rebuked by party
Pennsylvania Sen. Pat Toomey = Rebuked by party
Cindy McCain = Censured
Former Arizona Senator Jeff Flake = Censured
Arizona Governor Doug Ducey = Censured
Michigan Rep. Justin Amash = No longer welcomed in the party after declaring that Mueller Report findings were impeachable
Wayne County Board of Canvassers Member Monica Palmer = threatened
Defense Secretary Mark Esper = Fired for disagreeing with Trump in public about troops in U.S. cities.

That illustrates the difference between the left and the right. The left will over look murder if it doesn't fit the narrative.

Public figures have a much higher threshold to prove in defamation cases...they have to prove that the publisher knew what they were saying was not true.Last edited by MAL; 03-03-2021, 08:51 PM.

OP, here is your favorite Shaman's defense
'QAnon Shaman' Lawyer: ‘My Client Guilty of Best Costume'
Keely Sharp
March 2, 2021The “QAnon shaman” from the Capitol riot in January will live in infamy for years to come. Although his lawyer admitted that he is guilty of trespassing, Attorney Albert Watkins declared that Jacob Chansley was guilty of little else except “winning the best costume contest of the day.”
Watkins described Chansley as a peaceful man who happened to catch people’s eye during the breech, due to his bare chest, bison horns, and fur. He also declared that Chansley helped diffuse the situation by telling protestors it was time to disperse and leave.
“There’s 10 million miles of video footage of my client,” Watkins told Newsmax TV’s “Greg Kelly Reports” on Wednesday. “None of it displays anything that is resembling violent, destructive. He wasn’t armed. He wasn’t shrouding his identity. In fact he was the most visible person there. He won the best costume contest of the day.
“But he also helped police. He called for everyone to leave once President (Donald) Trump announced that it was time to go home. This man is a peaceful man. He’s a gentle man,” he continued. “It’s not the sign of someone you need to be afraid of.”
Newsmax reports:
The Arizona-born Chansley is charged with a host of federal violations: civil disorder, obstruction of an official proceeding, entering and remaining in a restricted building, disorderly and disruptive conduct in a restricted building, violent entry and disorderly conduct in a capitol building, parading, demonstrating, or picketing in a capitol building. Watkins said he does not blame Trump for causing him to enter the capitol.
Watkins, who said Chansley has admitted he trespassed, indicated the raft of charges – which could result in a total of 20 years in prison – was overkill.
“At the end of the day, you can add all those up, I try this case,” Watkins said. “If my client isn’t handled appropriately and handled with respect for the totality of the circumstances, bring it on. Let’s try it. But the fact of the matter is my client has owned what he’s done. There’s video footage all over.
He concluded, “Has my client trespassed? Yes. Was he conspiratorial? No. Was he trying to overthrow the government? No. Was he an insurrectionist? Trying to lead a coup? Are you kidding me? The guy is wearing horns and fur. My dog could garner more following faster than my client, who is a delightful young man. He needs to go back home, write books, poetry, do art, make pots and do his online Shaman thing.”

I actually sort of agree with this lawyer. He he is definitely misguided but does not seem like a malicious guy. And he definitely was on Camera telling everyone to go home because Trump told them to. I think I told you before that if I saw this cat at a festival I would have to listen to his rap for a while just for entertainment.
So what did you think of the video? I’m not saying he’s deserving of the medal of freedom that’s for true heroes like Rush. But I think the guy kept his cool being out numbered and did leave them away from a lot of people. I’m sure you might’ve missed it but there was a big Q on the shirt of the guy that was kind of leading the pack. The fake news is saying that was Q anon but I was on a website he’s actually the wrestling coach in Queens New York and that just happens to be their coaching shirts.
I know I am kind of responding to a few posts. I’m a huge Frank’s Zappa fan and I remember Tipper Gore going after him and other bands some that were even sued for teenagers suicide. But besides that, generally liberals are not for censorship like that I would say that’s for the religious right but I do agree it all depends on what peoples motivations are...I do admit I don’t know that much about how those lawsuits work. After the big inauguration day tomorrow I say they let trump back on Twitter. It was annoying as hell when he was president but now I think it would be funny. I lived in the closest house to Houston hobby airport and the planes used to shake my house When they were taking off and landing. It bothered me at the time, but now I miss those airplanes. That’s how I feel about Trump. At this point it’s just entertaining.Last edited by oldpioneer; 03-03-2021, 03:43 PM.Always support your local wrestling tournament concession stands!!!
