  • Lockport wrestled great, but

Providence shocked the world and beat Lockport ( the New Kings of the Mat) at the regionals. They again dominated in the light weights, and had young men in the finals at 160, 189, and 215. The 189 pounder avenged and early loss to B. Johnson, then their 215 beat A Rod for the second time this year (once at Dvorak then today in the regional finals.) So much for a lack of team balance, so here is a toast to Twist for once again being off target, off base, and wrong in general. Congrats to all of the champions, and everyone that battled and left it all on the mat. Never underestimate The Boys that wrestle for The Keith Healy. They don't stop, they'll never quit, and they know how to win. Uh Rah!

This is why the matches are wrestled, and not settled on paper. I could say who i thought was going to win, they could lose. Big whoop, a prediction is not the end result.

That's why I thought Providence would win this regional; people just don't take into account guys missing from the line-up, injuries, illnesses, guys not making weight, etc; I said it before and I will say it again...if you pay too much attention to a loss that Providence had vs Nequa Valley or the beat down they took with half a line-up vs Montini then you made a BIG mistake. Minooka better be on their "A" game vs Providence in that team sectional.

You are kidding, right. I think Cooper was the only starter out for Providence in their dual with Montini. Unless Cooper wrestles 7 weight classes, they did not have half a line-up.

how does a team with 6 or more team titles beat a team with 0 and you call it a shock. Gimme a break I never thought Lockport would win. Providence was runner up last year. Yeah what a shock. The top returning team beat a team with no team trophies. Shocker
          There's no I in Lembas.

              Took another look.

Price, Klimara, Ambrose, Togher, Klaver, Wojcik, Crnich, Phillips, Walsh, Haney, Downes, Michals, Sheffer, and Laski all wrestled. I'm no expert on Providence, but seems like a lot more than half their starters.

Ummm...NOT...take a look at their wrestlers in the regionals....and the weights they were at. Price didn't even wrestle.

There is nothing I would like to see more than a Providence vs OPRF final...two classy programs with two great coaches and a clash vs the old guard vs the new....it would be awesome...but we both have to get there first...LOL

Don't drag me into your PC vs the world stuff. Go back and read my last article on this site and premiumpreps about PC. Do a search. It's there geo. I indicated that PC was a quality team. I have always been a Healy fan. First class coach. I have posted over and over that they would be there at the end of the year. Not once did I ever say Lockport would beat them. The only thing from PC I have ever questioned is some of their fans and their "extra" enthusiasm. Read your own post geo and you will get the idea. Settle down...it's just regionals...everyone that is suppose to win a regional did. Wait until after state to celebrate. Peace....

                          Cubs suck

Hey cub 84, in case you didn't notice that was sarcastic. The whole point was that "I" wasn't shocked. The newspapers on the soud side were calling Lockport the "New kings of the Mat" and in previous posts Twist implied that the Celtics would have trouble with the serious bigs of the Porters. Even after PC killed MC at CCL. So no its not a shock, thanks for the input sharpy. Pay attention, try to keep up, think before posting, Bartman!!!!!! Don't make me post your quote Twist. And you're fair and unbiased as am I. I spoke to you the other day T, and as I have said I'll always respect what you do for the sport!

The truth is PC won the CCL on the strength of the little guys. All I said was if Lockport was to have a chance then it would be because of PC's big guys. That was a fact and it proved out today as the little guys came through for PC again. I have not seen Lockport as a team this year so I could not and would not make a team prediction on them.

I do think everyone is in celebration mode a few weeks too soon.

I do agree about the Cubbies though

Twist you are so easy, I'm just messin with you man. PC placed 2nd at 160. 3rd at 171' ,won it at 189 and 215 and took 3rd at Hwt. They hadn't sealed it till either 189 or 215 I think, but whatever it was all the little guys, cmon it was a top to bottom effort. Don't make me grrrrrrrr!!!!!
