Whitford....and Marsden right in the love seat next to him! Two totally different styles, but both unbelievably dominant.

biases and most dominant
I think when Twist hears the word bias he goes into overdrive defensive mode for some reason?LOL
He and I got into a two day debate a few years back when I suggested he was biased toward MC wrestling with respect to their rankings.
I do think the original poster was not completely clear if he was just looking for most dominant at the state meet this past weekend. And therefore Twist had every right to include Akui on his list.
I hate to admit it again but I kind of like McBlns thinking on this subject.

what about
Originally posted by mckbln View PostNo, but when you say "most dominant" I think it implies somebody who was undefeated and clobbered most of his competition. At 47-0 and I don't know how many falls, I just can't think of another wrestler in the state this year, at ANY class that crushed his opposition like Marsden.
When I think back, John Starzyk had a season at 119lbs his junior year where practically nobody touched him...and he was a pinning machine!
Did CLC? Willowbrook? Is that a factor here?

sorry, ben, but with your loss to avelar, i can't have you at the top of the most dominant list, this year
jack allen:
#2 and top 10 nationally chris lopez 5-3, 5-2
#4 sean sullivan -pin
#5 josh dust - major
#6 jevar glover - major
#7 brian pieroth - major
#8 aaron castagna - major
#9 andrew geers - pin
#10 tom howell - little bro. brian pinned
#4/215 shaquille mcmurtry (who should have beat marchok in that semi-final match) - pin
#5 aa motley - major
#9 aa deleon - pin
#10 aa brazil - pin
# 11 aa schraidt - pin
"generally", heavyweights sometimes have lower scoring push & shoves.
that was NOT the case this year.
chris lopez = congratulations, you're very, very good.
james buss = you looked alot better this year, to bad we didn't get to see you and jack tangle
only ONE offensive takedown allowed this year, to jevar glover, and you sheepishly grinned
i would have liked to see marsden against marchok, but it was not to be.
all we can go on is who was in front of them, but, the cream rises to the top against the best competition.

Too complicated

I will repost this:
Marsden at Conant:
Fall 2:00, fall 1:21, fall :58 (semis), fall :28 (finals)
Dvorak:
Fall 2:49, fall :35, Maj Dec 17-5 (semis), fall 3:12 (finals) over Joe Gonzalez, LT AAA state runner-up
Fox Valley Conference:
Fall 1:20 fall 1:40 fall :58 (finals) over AAA #5 ranked Cody Churkey
AA State championship:
Fall 4:14 fall 2:21 (semis) over #6 ranked Ruano fall 2:48 (finals) over #3 ranked Kent
That is just plain brutal!
While Allen had some close matches vs Ryan, Peiroth, and Lopez, NONE of Marsden's peers, in AA or AAA were even close to him.Last edited by mckbln; 02-20-2011, 09:22 PM.sigpic

Marsden was untouchable this year, and obviously Oklahoma likes what they are seeing.
