  • Most dominate wrestler in the state?

Alright let's hear it, who smashed the competition this year? The most dominate wrestler in the state of Illinois? I'm going to go a head and put my pick in for Luke Smith. This kid was just rediculous!

    Congenie a close second.

Congenie. He absolutely removed the asterisk some were talking about when Akui was suspended.

          Chino decimated the competition.

Tie between Cooper and Congenie. I'd like to see Chino wrestle the top two 2A guys before id put him in the categorie.

even though i think congenie is the best pound for pound wrestler in the state, i also gotta go with my guy jack allen as most dominant.

he majored or pinned 12-14 of the top ten kids in aa & aaa.

the only guy that hung with him, twice, was upper echelon chris lopez.

You have to add Jack Allen to this list...the only 46-0 wrestler in the state and he beat a top 10 nationally ranked wrestler twice this year.

I think it's Whitford. Definite cases can be made for Congenie, Allen, Cooper, Akui and Garrelli.

Brad Johnson. 3 pins. 2 in the first period. Dominating finals performance.

                        AAA?

i was thinking of AAA only. Whitford is the best in the state! i think anyway.

And Twister...there can be NO case made for Akui! none! PLEASE!

Sure you can make a case for Akui. I thought we were talking WRESTLING dominance? Now if you are throwing in his personal issues I don't understand what that has to do with being the most dominant wrestler in the state other than they hindered him from attending the state tournament. Neverless you can not overlook his ability to wrestle. I don't know of anyone that beat Akui on the mat. Even at that Whitford was the most dominant wrestler in the state this year. I never saw in the original post anything saying AAA so I had to throw Whitford in there. When we talk entire state it is just hard to ignore Crystal Lake, Marmion or Montini. Those three teams have some of the most exciting wrestlers in the state on them. So for a topic like this you need a criterai that says; AAA only, No suspended wrestlers, undefeated only, etc. or all bets on limitations are off.

Akui is obviously a very good wrestler. After his matches with Brooks I did not see a huge difference between the two. Close matches and Brooks looked better in the 3rd period than Akui. Congenie made it clear..very clear that he was better than Brooks. I think we do know of a wrestler that could beat Akui and HE won state last night!

I thought Brooks was going to win before the match. Conjenie was simply superb...slick, accomplished with several different moves. Really impressive and I would love to see him wrestle Akui, but that is not likely to happen.
