Congrats to Sandburg and GBN and OPRF!!!
I've always liked GBN and have really enjoyed the rise of OPRF and Sandburg. I'm a Montini alumnus but want all of these programs and more to be near the same strength fighting for the top of the podium. Whether that podium is actual (all in the same class dual) or virtual (argued on here) IT'S GREAT FOR ILLINOIS WRESTLING!
I am thrilled with how far IL wrestling has come. We were outside looking in in the 80's when it came to states like Iowa, Penn, Cali, OH, etc. Now you can't have a conversation about HS wrestling without IL.
Arguing about who is best should be fun. It is fun. Some are more gracious than others when they're winning. Some people just can't help rub it in. That's really too bad. The big picture is that IL wrestling is awesome and that's pretty cool.

This year, contrary to the team rankings on this site, I always thought GBN was going to be the biggest hurdle to climb in the team tournament. Those early dual losses truly meant nothing as your team wasn't yet formed.
The real (at least in my opinion) in-state results:
Two losses to the same team,
one by a point and one (over-looking the wrestler and coach penalties) by criteria.
Congratulations on a great year Panthers.
I look forward to hating you for many years to come.
I obviously feel the complete opposite with my love-hate relationship...mine would be with Sandburg. But the Sandburg/GBN duals have become a great rivalry, and I look forward to future ones.
