The Best Rivalries-Break 'em down

In my quest to keep good topics on the board until we get real wrestling I stole this one from W.I.N. Magazine.

Using the catagories listed I want you to breakdown these great rivalries (Barr, Tofurky, layden, mcklbn, Jaguar should be great at this) plus others that you may think of.

Rivalries to start with

Kennedy vs Fanthorpe
Morgan vs Hutter
Bullard vs Precin
Kratovil vs McNaughton
Benefiel vs White
Berman vs Manzella
Hammons vs Reynolds
Ramos vs Spangler
Zimmerman vs Martin
Bybee vs Clark
Bruce vs Fagiano
Starzykvs Moore

Catagories
Conditioning
Consistancy / Durability
Control
Defense
Domination
Flexibility
Funk/Scrambling
In the Clutch
Offenive Weapons
Pinning
Quality of Competition
Toughness-Mental & Physical
Final analyis

I wouldn't call these three a rivalry considering they only wrestled once in high school.

You are probably right. I just listed them because if everyone could see these matches again it would be a selout. So funk em up can you do the other ones? What's your opinions on those great matches.

Brandon Donofrio (HS) vs. Ben Gerdes (Sand)-Donofrio got the upper hand in that one!

Nick Baima (GBW) vs Tyler Williams (GBN) Had to put that one, it's the only time Glenbard West has had the upper hand on GBN. Williams beat Baima once and it was a bad loss at sectionals putting Baima on the same side as Hiatt for state.

Tannenbaum vs. Matt Smith (GBN) Smith never beat him, but it sure made him alot better.

Jason Chappell (GBW) vs. Mike Wedding (NN) I'm dating myself here, but these two guys had a bloodbath at the Hinsdale Central tournament and again in sectionals.

Russ Weil (Min) vs. Kyle Williams (Bol) Some of the best matches I've seen.

Reggie Wright (Proviso E.) vs. Tony Davis (Mt. Carmel) I don't know if they met other than the state finals, but this is the best state finals match I have seen! Ever!

Mark Bybee vs. Ben Gerdes: Everyone knows about this one

Pat Brownson (Roch) vs. Tyler Brusewitz (Yrk) Two great state final matches. Trivia: Besides this match, which two wrestlers have wrestled each other in the state finals at the same weight two consecutive years with the same results. Anyone besides Precin and Bullard? Was that even at the same weight?

Johnson (NN) vs. Bentch (DGN) A couple of pretty good matches.

From this list I would say the biggest rivalry is/was Morgan vs. Hutter. Even though Morgan won the majority of the matches they were always entertaining and had lots action, scoring opportunities, and scrambles. Fun and entertaining wrestling to watch. I don't have time right now to break it down more than that, but maybe later. The one that I think could turn into a very good rivalry is Spangler vs. Ramos. They have both won 1 in O.T. but I will say they weren't exactly exciting matches in my book. Hopefully as they continue to wrestle they will open up and we will get to see some good scrambles and exciting wrestling. Some of the others didn't wrestle enough times to have a rivalry, but they were good matches.

Ramos vs Spangler could be a great one if they open up like you said.

I always like Berman vs Manzella. Something was always gonna happen in those matches.

Morgan vs Hutter. I, of course saw them all. Those two guys are at war with each other. I don't know if they even like each other but I do believe they respect each other.

Kratovil vs McNaughton happened a few times or was that Kratovil vs McAullife?

Benefiel vs White is the rivalry that people want but may never happen again.

Spangler vs Ramos was a good one, and I got to witness a very good one as well.
Lillashawn Coleman lost to Lavell Miller at 103lbs twice in 2004-05. He lost to him two more times in 2005-06...but finally beat him the 3rd time at the Leyden Sectional. All of the matches were fast-paced and brutal, but fun to watch!!!

Too complicated. I would say that Lillashawn was in better shape, but he always had a bad habit of putting himself in a bad position by getting sloppy (you saw the match he had with Barnhisel at Fenwick...he was winning into the 2nd period and then got stupid). When he beat Lavell in the sectionals, it was pure guts.
