Warren’s Caleb Noble captures 113-pound championship from No. 7 seed, while Havrylkiv, Heeg and Arnett turn in impressive performances in Greensboro.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Illinois wrestling made a strong statement on the national stage this past weekend at the 2026 Defense Soap Super 32 Challenge, as four wrestlers from the Land of Lincoln earned podium finishes at one of the nation’s most prestigious preseason high school wrestling tournaments.

Leading the way was Warren Township’s Caleb Noble, a three-time Illinois state champion who captured the 113-pound championship after entering the tournament as the No. 7 seed, the lowest seed of any champion ever at the Super 32 tournament.

Joining Noble on the podium were Oleksander Havrylkiv (Hersey), who placed third at 132 pounds; Justus Heeg (Providence Catholic), who finished third at 175 pounds; and Aiden Arnett (IC Catholic Prep), who earned fourth at 157 pounds.

Caleb Noble Captures 113-Pound Championship With Historic Run

Three-time Illinois state champion Caleb Noble continued to add to his already impressive wrestling résumé, capturing the 113-pound Super 32 title with a perfect 7-0 record.

Entering the tournament seeded seventh, Noble battled through one of the deepest weight classes in the country before meeting top-seeded Kooper Deputy of Pennsylvania, a 2026 U17 World Team member, in the championship match.

Noble delivered an outstanding performance, defeating Deputy by a 15-10 decision to claim the championship.

The victory was particularly impressive considering Deputy represented the United States at the U17 World Championships earlier this year, finishing fifth in the world at 48 kilograms.

Throughout the tournament, Noble displayed an explosive offense, recording bonus-point victories in six of his seven matches while outscoring opponents by an impressive 82-18 margin.

His championship performance also included a dominant 19-3 technical fall over Connor Maddox of Indiana in the semifinals.

For Noble, this marks his second Super 32 championship, having previously won the tournament at 106 pounds in 2024.

Already a three-time IHSA state champion, the Warren Township senior and Arizona State University commit continues to establish himself as one of the most accomplished wrestlers in Illinois high school history.

With one final high school season remaining, Noble will have the opportunity to join the exclusive group of four-time Illinois state champions.

Oleksander Havrylkiv Battles Through Loaded 132-Pound Bracket for Third

One of the biggest stories from the Illinois contingent was the impressive performance of Hersey’s Oleksander Havrylkiv, who battled through a loaded 132-pound bracket to earn a third-place finish.

Havrylkiv entered the tournament unseeded but quickly proved he belonged among the nation’s best.

After suffering an 8-6 loss to Aaron Meza of California in the round of 16, Havrylkiv responded with a remarkable run through the consolation bracket, knocking off several nationally ranked opponents along the way.
