Illinois Matwomen IHSA Pound for Pound Top 50
Part 4 of 5 Ranks 20 through 11 2026 to 2027 Season
The countdown reaches the edge of the Top 10, and the credentials become increasingly difficult to separate. This group includes four returning IHSA runners-up, a reigning state champion, a former state champion, and three wrestlers with Fargo All-American finishes. Nine have already earned an IHSA medal. The lone incoming freshman, Kennedy Hogan, enters high school after placing fourth at Fargo.
There are also several direct connections within these ten names. Demetria Griffin and Stella Piazza met for the 2026 IHSA championship at 115 pounds. Zoey Dodgers, Blair Grennan and Jade Hardee shared the 110-pound state podium. Piazza, Dodgers and Grennan now occupy the first three positions in our preseason 115-pound rankings, while Hardee and Griffin sit second and third at 120.
Those overlapping résumés make this installment more than a collection of individual accomplishments. It offers an early look at some of the matchups that could shape the coming season, including established contenders approaching their final high school postseason and younger wrestlers who have already reached championship matches.
Our pound-for-pound evaluation gives the IHSA state series the greatest weight, with head-to-head results and significant regional and national performances adding context. Freestyle results are identified by their own age divisions and weights. The weights and Illinois Matwomen positions below belong to this preseason installment; national references are from High School On SI’s Version 5 rankings, published October 9, 2026.
We continue the countdown with #20 through #11.
