TEAM ILLINOIS • Here is a look at the unofficial current roster for Team Illinois’ 16U and Junior National Team in Freestyle. With the Second Chance Qualifier being wrestled out this past weekend, it will all come down now to allocations through the state and regional and national championship tournaments, as well as petitions and all that goes into the process.
Team Illinois always does a wonderful job of lining up its team based on qualifications and then working down the line with phone calls to make sure they utilize all their allocations. As one of the most competitive states at the National Championships, being a member of Team Illinois is always an honor as IL/USAW is always in contention for a national championship.
Below is the current list of 16U and Junior Freestyle National Team members based on the IL/USAW State qualifications and the past National and Regional Championships.
Remember, wrestlers who qualified for Fargo via a Regional Championships have the option to choose their own weight for Team Illinois. For those who qualified through the State Championships or Second Chance, they must wrestle at the weight they qualified at through the state. Due to this, there is even more to be considered for where allocations can and cannot be filled.
