Charlotte Nold and Rain Scott have already wrestled in an IHSA state championship match. Demetria Griffin has already won one.
They occupy the first three spots in Illinois Matwomen’s Sophomore Top 50, giving the Class of 2029 an accomplished group at the front of the rankings. Scott also brings a 2026 Fargo 16U freestyle title into her second high school season, while several classmates return with state medals and opportunities to climb higher.
The interest extends beyond those established names. Farther down the list are wrestlers whose preseason weight rankings suggest a possible podium run, along with longer-shot prospects who could change the conversation through their results.
