OTT: Nine from Illinois are headed to tonight’s semifinals

STATE COLLEGE, PA • The morning began with 27 wrestlers from or with ties to Illinois, and now, headed into tonight’s semifinals, nine remain with Olympic dreams still intact. Of those nine, four are Greco, four are women’s Freestyle, and one is men’s Freestyle.

Here are the matchups for the opportunity to wrestle either in the finals of the Challenge Tournament, or into the best-of-three series.

Men’s Freestyle

57kg • Zane Richards, Illini WC/TMWC

Richards will face off against Spencer Lee (Hawkeye Wrestling Club). Both Richards and Lee had a Bye into the quarterfinals. For Richards, the one seed, he would defeat Luke Lilledahl (NLWC/TMWC) by decision, 5-3.
