STATE COLLEGE, Pa. – Redshirt freshman Jason Ipsarides used a third period reversal to earn a 4-3 victory over Penn State’s George Carpenter on Sunday, as the Wildcats fell 45-3 to the Nittany Lions in front of a capacity crowd at Rec Hall.
Northwestern was shorthanded against the defending national champions, forced to forfeit at both the 149 and 174 weight classes due to injuries.
The Wildcats will host in-state Big Ten foe Illinois on Friday, Feb. 3, at 7 p.m. CT, on Senior Day at Welsh-Ryan Arena.
