By the Numbers: One Last Look at the “Regional Seeding” Debate with Hard Data

ILLINOIS • Since the IHSA State Championships have concluded, and enough time has passed to put away the emotions, while the hard numbers are now definitive, it is time to look at how each Individual Sectional fared at the championships, as well as the public school versus private school debate. More importantly, how the best teams fared and how sectionals were constructed and why this needs to be assigned with more consideration. 

In doing this, to maintain consistency, 3A is still going to be the state classification that is pulled from. Inside of the 3A classification, breakdowns will show that schools not only could have been moved
