LAS VEGAS, NV • Ben Davino is arguably the best pound-for-pound wrestler in Illinois, and after claiming the 60 kg U17 World Team Trials championship in a best two-of-three series over Jax Forrest, last’s years U17 World silver medalist at 55 kg, Davino has now proven he is the best wrestler in the land. But, for Davino, there is more to do.
For the Ohio State commit, who is already a three-time Illinois 3A state champion, and who has won on a variety of big stages, such as Fargo, Super 32, and the Ironman, the World stage will provide the ultimate test. Walking into Istanbul, Turkey, this August will give Davino the platform to challenge and to prove himself in ways he has never experienced.
