Danny Braunagel, Sr, Althoff Catholic, 160 – 2 tech falls and 2 majors at Dvorak to win it at 160 and goes 9-0 at Abe’s Rumble 5 days later by either tech fall or pin. Record is 25-0 on the season. Ranked #1 in the power rankings at 160.
Aydin Guttridge, Jr, Rockford East, 285 – Had a couple big wins this week beating 3A #2 Jose Ramos of Prospect 3-1 and 2A #3 Joey Beaudoin of Sycamore by fall in 1:38.
Luc Valdez, Jr, Andrew, 113 – Won the 113-pound title in the Lourdes on the Water Classic in Osh Kosh. The Andrew team was in a tight battle for the team title against Coleman. Luc wrestled a returning Wisconsin state champion from Coleman in the finals and won in overtime and Andrew won the 64 team event.
Noah Villarreal, So, Aurora Christian, 126 – Competed at Dekalb Don Flavin Invitational where Noah went 6-0 defeating Dvorak champ Jaime Suarez, 2A #5 Drew Nash, and Isaac Martinez.
